Baseball Talk 2011
    #14271881 - 04/11/11 11:54 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

So let's talk Baseball people!

i was at Target Field for opening weekend, what a beautiful home the Twins have. not a bad seat in the house! got to see Thome hit his 590th home-run yesterday! good times even tho they lost.

Twins aren't off to a great start but i'm sure they'll get into a rhythm soon.

seems like there is a lot of broken bats this year! like 2 or more every Twins game so far! anyone else's club seeing that?

any early season predictions from anyone?

Red Sox are off to a horrible start as well, I wouldn't worry about the Twins slow start.  Phillies and Red Sox in the World Series would be my best guess.

Target field is beautiful.  Never seen a game there but would like to sometime.

slow starts don't bother me, it's the mid-summer slump that sucks.

i think Texas and the Yanks will implode before the play-offs. This will give the Sox a good chance.

look out for the Giants again this year. i think the Blues Jays have a good chance of taking the whole thing as well.

Jays?  No way, and can't see the Giants doing it again.  But no one thought they would last year either.

It's good to see the Twins be able to get a higher payroll.  I've been so tired of seeing the Yankees beat them every year in the playoffs and I HATE the Yankees.

You must be happy to never have to watch another game in the Metrodome.  Reminded me of the Kingdome in Seattle without the wierd roof but both are gone thank God.  Some sportscaster said the Metrodome was like baseball being played in a hamburger box.

Jays taking it all? i fuckin wish!

but they're just not solid enough. i'd say we got two years before we even make the playoffs.

gotta get rid of Rivera too... dude's shit. John McDonald would be a better DH.

i got plenty of hate for the Yankees as well.

the Yankees are death to us in the play-offs every year. we have a real hard time beating them on the road. if the Yanks don't make the play-off and 33 can stay heathy we got a good chance.

i wish we would have kept Punto, he can't hit but he's a great infielder. now our new 2nd baseman is hurt. Cuddyer was playing 2nd yesterday and i really like that move. that put Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, Kubel, and Thome in the line up!

the 'dome sucked so much as for baseball. you couldn't see shit. Target Field is so nice even if the Twins lose you don't care, it's just nice to be outside and have a great view of some big league ball. even $15 tickets are a great view! there really is no bad seat in the house! and i don't know how long it will go go but scalpers seem to have over-bought. if you show up right before the game there are a dozen dude with tickets to dump at face value. one cat was selling everything for $10. under face value. was a good old time!

have you seen the Twins 'pen? all we have is Capps and Nathan, all the middle relievers suck. and are starting rotation is nothing to brag about. all we needed was better pitching to make the team really great and yet we are on pace to have another season with ok to poor pitching.

Those are some in-depth predictions.  I like the Phillies pick, can't say so much so with the A's and White Sox.  Ozzie Guillen is going to implode.  Bobby Jenks getting paid 6 mil a year to be the seventh inning holder for the Red Sox, what a joke.

Well It's odd to see the Indians and the Royals battling for 1st place. As a Phillies fan I sure hope they don't start with the slumping problems they had last year. No idea how they had the best record in baseball last year.

If you're a Phillies fan I don't think you have anything to worry about besides possible injuries until the World Series matchup.
