what a beautiful nite, temp 75 and just beautiful out
    #14270538 - 04/11/11 02:37 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

i just returned from walking mr moto, my chinese sharpei, he almost got into it with an amadillo, i always look for the critters but i don't always spot them first,  this armadillo was motionless, the last thing i want to do at this time of nite is to take the dog to the vet.  anyway it was nice to hear the owl's and smell the jasmine which is in bloom, plus mr moto spotted a few mushrooms, we had some rain last week, its been very dry and we need the rain..  i am new to the forum and just ordered my first spore syringes, they are from this area.  just looking at some of the threads and videos on youtube on mushrooms brings back a lot of memories, some 30 years old  i just refoamed some large advent speakers that are twice my daughters age.  anyone out there share their space with a sharpei,, mr moto currently has 2 possums that are confirmed kills, i buried them.  but he was caught leaving the fenced yard (in the day time) so now he can only go out under supervison  till the yard is secured better.  i hope all is well with the other readers out there  i am looking forward to growing mushrooms,  in the past i have supplied the wood (from hurricane francis and jeanne) and mother nature did the rest.

they root around for grubs and bugs, they are very destructive to your yard they have claws that they dig with, i dont want my dog to get hurt, especially at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning and have to go to the vet.  i think that any animal fighting for its life can get ugly, plus i really dont want to see another get killed infront of me if i can help it.  i had a male french bulldog that mr moto and him would occasionally get into fight (the last two were mr moto protecting his possum kill) i was unable to break up the fights and they went all the way, its hard to break up a fight when your alone, especially if its dark and in the back yard.  anyway the bulldog is currently staying with my daughter.

i just returned from walking my moto, it was chilly tonite on 70 degrees and damp, but the full moon was beautiful, and the confederate jasmine is in bloom,  i feel your pain, i lived in the northeast for 35 years till i moved to the sunshine state, leaving new jersey was the best thing i ever did.  but the summer is 90 92 everyday with a lot of humidity (although early in the morning and once the sun goes down its not as intense, but that what ac is for right  i think its perfect weather for growing mushrooms,

I have several trumpet vines in my garden; however they are not the angel variety.

that photo is a devil's trumpet, i didn't have any angel trumpet photos in my gallery yet so i posted that one, its a double purlpe and white.  that is one beauful sharpei, how old is clyde?  i had a fawn male sharpei 15 years ago named budda that was my girlfriend dog that i watched for a year, till she dumped me and i meet someone else and she came and took the dog back, even though she gave him to me, anyway i bought a black female puppy that we called meisha, she only lived 5 years, she had amaladoysis, then i got another female puppy sable in color we called her zena, she was great, but she started to leak around 5 years old, sometime that happens when they get fixed, she's gone now i put her down a little over a year ago. now i have my moto my first male pupply sharpei, he is a bear coat, he is amazing, green eyes, very primitive, he is a big time hunter, at 65 pound he is the largest pei that i have had, to bad him and my french bulldog didn't get alongs, i thougth mr moto was going to rig of tony's ear or kill him, the bulldog was only forty pounds, but their tough. anyway he is staying with my daughter.  you have one beautiful companion, it made me smile to see his photo thanks
