2001: A Space Odyssey is a movie that will make you think for weeks or months or forever.
Full Metal Jacket has been mentioned.
A Clockwork Orange kind of changed society.
Otherwise the movie Network is really one of my all-time favorites. Genius work.
Visioneers is a little movie that forever changed the way I look at butter. Really a cool movie.
What else?
Instinct inspired me to read the book on which it is based so that one really kind of opened my eyes to a new worldview. The book is "Ishmael". The movie is very loosely based on it.
I know there are more but I can't think of them now. Maybe I'll come back. Anyway, nice thread. There are some movies mentioned that I haven't seen so now I have movies to watch!
kubrick is great, sorry i forgot to mention a space odyssey
how about that movie with al pacino, really old. about them robbing a bank etc. then the crowd starts yelling "gatica! gatica! gatica!"
etc.
heh
real good movie

The other one that really touched me is Stephen Fry's documentary, The secret life of the manic-depressive, really pits things into perspective for me.
There are a huge lot of awesome movies, most of them mentioned, but for some reasons none really speak to me...
really good movie. i love how he doesn't understand when he is fucking that girl, why she calls him an asshole and shit. he doesn't know he is also brad pitt, and that they have a split personality

i also thought it was hilarious when that girl is dying, and she gets up and says "anyone want to help me get laid, one last time, before i die? anybody want to help me get laid?"
fucking funny as shit movie
the ending was awesome when all those buildings explode

That is a good movie.
