PF tek substrate mixing questions

If I sound like i'm a bit of a newbie . . . its because I am. I have a question about substrate mixing for the PF tek. This FOAF has some cakes going right now and small signs of growth on some after only 3 days. Some of the jars I think were dry though. I was just wondering what the perfect ration (BFR : water : verm) is per jar and I want to know from everyones expirence, not just go and read the F.A.Q.s for info that is just a copy of a copy.

1/2cup verm
1/4cup brf
2.3oz water(lil over 1/4cup)

works perfect.

I like this best.

2 cups of Verm
1 cup of water
1 cup of BRF

makes 4 half pint jars.

i used to do 3/1/1 - verm/brf/water. thats what the tek i used said to do. lately i've been cutting back on the verm a bit and increasing the flour but to be honest i cant notice much of a difference at all
