PE6 PF cakes?
    #14266839 - 04/10/11 12:25 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Hello, I have just started the fruiting stages of my PE6 PF cakes. However today I looked at the mushies and saw this. Is this normal for PE?

:UPDATE:

Is this normal? Its starting to look a little wierd?

Pretty!!!

I don't see any issues... watch that they don't get too wet from being in contact with the perlite...

they are adorable.

I am using A 90 qt tote with about 20 1/4" holes. Perlite to humidify, I am at 94-96% RH and temp is 78F. I have about 15 cakes in this tote. I mist and fan about 8 times a day.

Just one Flourescant cool bulb above my FC, its not direct light onto the shroomies. Maybe give it a more direct source of light?

nope...that sounds fine...i had the same problem with a cake or two when i started...i was out of work..home all day..winter time...i thought if misting/faning...was the key...then i would do it twice as much...i think i loved them to death...and had a t5 grow light to close....i also drilled more holes to help fix things ....you are doing fine...small adjustments...good luck

Thanks for the input! I am in that exact situation, so maybe cut back on misting and fanning. How long should i cycle the lights or does it matter?

@ op:

looking good so far.

and a hint from my side:

put a double layer of tin foil under the cakes;

that prevents your perlite from getting too dirty,

your cakes from getting too soggy at the bottom and

you have something which seperates the cakes from possible contaminants from the perlite.

Ok, Is there a certain reason all my cakes would be doing that? Will future flushes be infected like this as well?

May have been the spore print/syringe. With good spore printing tactics you can still get a clean one back, IME

Could it be from overmisting? Do i need to remove infected cakes from my FC, should I harvest now, or make a small FC for it?
