The Triangulum Galaxy 18 Quintillion Miles From Earth
    #14266319 - 04/10/11 10:21 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Quote:

In a study that pushes the limits of observations currently possible from Earth, a team of NASA and European scientists recorded the "fingerprints" of mystery molecules in the Triangulum Galaxy, as well as the Andromeda Galaxy.
Figuring out exactly which molecules are leaving these clues, known as "diffuse interstellar bands" (DIBs), is a puzzle that initially seemed straightforward but has gone unsolved for nearly a hundred years. The answer is expected to help explain how stars, planets and life form.

I bet there are some insane life forms somewhere deep in that massive galaxy
we are looking millions of years in the past :hypnotic:

Plasma--not a gas, liquid or solid--is the fourth state of matter and often behaves like a gas, except that it conducts electricity and is affected by magnetic fields

We as mankind are going to go places never seen before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote:

The Plasma Spray-Physical Vapor Deposition vacuum pumps a blower to remove air from the chamber, reducing the pressure inside to fraction of normal atmospheric pressure. The plasma flame is extremely hot and reaches 10,000 degrees Celsius. Ceramic powder is introduced from the torch into the plasma flame. The plasma vaporizes the ceramic powder, which then condenses 5 feet away from the torch onto the component to form the ceramic coating.

im not an expert, but i think the answer to that is yes. (isnt there some probe in space that has what is essentially a light sail propelling it and it travels insanely fast?)

the only thing is it will still need an immense source of power to operate. how they will manage to have enough power to run it for more than 5 seconds is beyond me.

Those are solar sails. They are actually propelled by the minute force that photons impart when they hit something. It's pretty kewl.

its going to receive a continuous amount of energy as it operates accelerating it exponentially

It means they can go MEGAFAST because there's no air resistance in space.

plasmas are good for two things
conducting electricity which we use for CFLs
and reacting to magnetic fields which we use to direct its flow in order to utilize Sir Isaac Newtons III Laws of Motion

from what source

the sun wont be able to provide enough energy to run that thing unless thay have a solar panel the size of like 50000000000 football fields. in which case theyre probably getting the most propulsion from the ghetto solar sail it produces.

It means you can send probes to other planets without using any fuel.
