Pink oyster mycellium?

Made this plate from a year old slant of a pink oyster isolate.
I remember the mycelium is greyish and whispy but it grew insanly fast.
4 days from a small wedge!
Is the mold of myc?

Cheers Frcatal.

Definitely myc. Those oysters grow like insane! If I forget my plates, they go out of them in about 9 days max. Very aggressive species.

turns out that plate was bunk man,i think i isolated pink mold or something?
look at these jars it made?
Just a coincedence that its pink? with pink oyster culture? What are the chances!
I knew that sucker ran the plate far too quickly even for oyster mycelium!

I'm not sure about those jars but I do know that P. D'jamor's myc does turn pink after full colonisation. Someone mentioned it's the commencement of primordia formation.

I have a pink oyster culture that came from Aloha, and I must say that one trait of this specific strain is the pink mycelium. I find that the more nutrition you present to the mycelium, the more pink you get. My regular agar mix of 10G agar 10G LME produces white fluffy fast growing mycelium. But now here is the same strain, of the same P value but on an agar mix with 1 gram of soy peptone added:

I do not have pictures of it on grain, but the mycelium 100% had a hue of pink, and started pinning in the jars 5-6 days after full colonization.

Will try to get better pics up.

EDIT: these have pink blotchs well before full colonization mind you.....

That is really pink! Try smelling it. Any mold should smell.. well.. like mold.

I personally would not smell a pink mold, it could be deadly.

Sup Fractal!
I had a bacterial infection when my jars started to go that pink. If it was regular myc it would have a pinkish hue, not that pink IMO.
couple that with how much your jar is sweating in the pic and I think you have a bacterial contam forcing it to fruit early in the jars...
Just my 2 cents on that though....

Same thing happened to me, almost chucked a master culture cause it had a very similar pink hue. Decided to plate it out, transferred to grain and fruited it, no trouble at all.
Still your could definitely be mould...

I've got some pink oysters growing out in jars, along with some other varieties of oysters. My wife looked at the pink oyster jar and without knowing what variety it was, she said, "it's pink." It looks white to me, but she is a studio art professor with a highly developed sense of color.
