i use polyfil but i'm gonna have to stop and make some good lc lids..
polyfil is ok, but the problem i find with it is if it gets wet it could and has leaked contams in and with all the shaking needed to help break up the myc its hard not to get it wet.. hehe...
so i'm to see some new ideas too OP

I use micropore tape, with multiple layers on top.
I have a 1-3 hole setup, 1 hole has the silicon injection port, the other(s) are taped with micropore or tyvek. I dont use holes large enough to stuff poly in there, so i'm not sure how well it works.
Tyvek works just like the filter disks, but you'll want something on top of the lid as well in case the filter disk gets wet and wicks in contams, you still have micropore tape above as added protection.
I might be over-doing it, but i've never had a LC go bad yet, and i've been using the same ones with multiple injections (30+ for qt jars full of LC) and still fruiting just fine.
Best of luck!

yup no prob! I put at least 3 layers on mine, and make sure to re-cover after use.

No tape on LC jars!! Polyfil works if you're careful, synthetic discs or tyvek are better for LC.

Sure, but it's a terrible idea, even worse than polyfil.
I mean, I do grain to grain transfers in open air- but you don't see me telling other people to do it. Gotta give sound advice to folks and hope they take it.
Micropore tape really has no use in home mycology, except on PF jars.

I'm not saying to do it in open air, I'm just saying that micropore tape works really well for me. I use it on all my grain jars as well. I know I've seen you as well as a few others say that micropore can wick in contams...
but even with shaking and inoculation, it works perfect. But you need to double up on the tape, i'm sure if there is just one layer you'll get contams for sure

Open air g2g was an example of something I do but don't advise, I was analogizing. Double layer of tape is better than a single layer. But still, it would be my very last choice for an LC filter.
