quick question about growth

i was looking at someones cakes and they had shrooms groing on them, but on the actual cake, there were balls that started out white in color, but then cracked and turned a bluish green. the balls were not fuzzy. these balls are about dime sized and smaller in diameter. i was just wondering what these things are and if they make shroom consumption from these cakes dangerous. sorry if this is a dumb question, but i am new to this.

no, sorry, i dont have any pics. i can only provide more detail: there are about 6 of these balls on each cake. the rest of the cake looks healthy, even the areas around the ball, and the shrooms seem to be growing just fine. i have read other peoples questions about small white balls growing, but these seem to be a bit bigger (about half the diameter of a dime on average). the balls are perfectly round, and they are white on the outside, but in the areas where it is cracked i can se that the layer right below that is blue and then in the middle of the ball it is white again. they are not getting any bigger. the only thing they have done over time is crack. thanks.

What conditions are they in???? ie: fruiting chamber.. humidity method...

These balls might just be mycelium.. but can't say for sure.

they are in a fruiting chamber. the humididty is close to %100

Is the blueing spreading quickly???? ( inches per day)

Staying put?

will it rub off on a white tissue??? bruising will not rub off,,, mold will.

Use a fresh roll of TP ( toilet paper, ) and remove a few layers... and rub it lightly.

no, the blueing is staying within the ball. it has been blue for a couple of days but has not spread
