Religous Respect?
    #14258664 - 04/08/11 01:50 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Do you have less respect for people who insist that god is real and put their faith in god?

no,
considering 99.995% of people don't even understand the actual "concept" of "god".

I loose respect for them if they belive God is a european man with a long white beard sitting in the clouds on a golden throne with angels pointlessly singing songs to him all day.

I do not really lose respect for them but will question their judgment on things being that they will pray to imaginary friends. I also will be suspect of their motivation for things if they are hardcore. Look at the mormons and how they have a rather insane political agenda.

Kinda.  It's more the other way around really.  Those people get my baseline default amount of respect, I gain respect for people who don't believe.  The god people lose respect from me when they start trying to convince other people of their beliefs.

Like this article ..... lol

I have respect only for those who believe in and worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.

I try to respect everyone's beliefs as long as they do not try to impose those beliefs on others. You wanna debate about religious stuff, fine. You wanna outlaw things or give public money to religious institutions, not cool bro.

I wouldn't lose respect for the person, if that faith makes them more positive thus making their life more positive, let them call it "god"

at least its making them happy

I have respect for certain people who insist that god is real and put their faith in him. I also have no respect for certain people who insist that god isn't real and put their faith in something else or nothing at all. They represent the minority of people I know though. In general I have more respect for people who believe that god isn't real than people who believe he is. I guess it's the individual that makes me respect/not respect him and not his belief .
