Wanderlust is hard feeling to contain and one that can lead to many amazing experiences if followed. Everyone should travel if they have the opportunity.

100% agree. If not limited by money/time/etc I would never stop travelling. The more I see of this world, the stronger the desire becomes to see more.

Incredibly well-presented and well-written post with amazing images.
I've done a fair bit of travelling myself and plan to do some more. There's nothing like immersing yourself in other cultures to give you perspective and sense of self.
And now that I know I can find Sparassis in India.....

I'm with you there TimmiT. Wish I had more money to afford more travel. At least I'm fortunate enough to travel at all, but I could never travel enough. After this last trip in India hunting fungi and flora, I really feel the urge to do it again in other place around the globe.

You should come up here to New York. Spring is almost here!
Do you have pics of any actives you found in India?

Awesome post!
I think that the specimen after "Ganoderma sp. HVL06" is a Fomitopsis and not a Ganoderma. I may be wrong though.

What is the flesh of Fomitopsis species like? If I remember correctly, it had tough, pretty rubbery flesh, not brittle like most species of Ganoderma. It wasn't the only one that had flesh like that that I came across in India though. The questionable G. colossum was like that, as were a couple in Mumbai.
