Hey guys, I've recently been doing a ton of research on the kinds of shrooms said to grow wild in my area. I'm in Northern Kentucky and I know that Psilocybe Ovoideocystidiata come out in the ohio river valley in a couple weeks, i plan to go hunting there soon but I just came to notice there is another type of shroom that grows wild in my area. P. cinctulus. I was just wanting to get more of a description on the habitat where they grow. Please inform me experienced shroomerites ;]

horse and cow pastures are the best places to find them.... also dung compost with hay heaps.... and on some lawns maybe, usually newly laid lawns, with new grass

What about temperature? thats the more important thing. ive heard of them being found as early as february but as i read sub's guide for p. cinctulus it kind of contradicts that by saying it grows around 86 degree farenheit.

You are confusing something. I think you are referring to Panaeolus cyanescens, which is a tropical species. P. cinctulus can be found all year round except during winter in cold regions, but not always in great numbers. The best season is late summer to fall.

In my area they usually grow during the hot months (June, July, August).
IME they seem to like the warmer weather better, even if its 30 celsius, but i'm talking about lawn subbs, poo subbs probably grow earlier in the season.
I wish I had ovoids here though, consider yourself lucky
