Incredibly fast colonization. Burmese Yangoon
    #14258722 - 04/08/11 02:02 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I recently did 2 batches of PF jars, inoculated with spore syringes from Ralphsters. 1batch with Burmese Yangoon (BY) and the other with Golden Teachers (GT). After just 4 days the BY's have gone crazy! ALL of the BY jars have gone beyond 50% colonization and 1 is well past 75%! By comparison the GT's have only just now started to germinate and to show the tiniest bit of mycelium growth in the same time period. Incubation temps have fluctuated between 65 and 70 degrees farenheight. I just wanted to throw this out there in hopes that it might help someone else out there in the mycology community.

Psilocybe Cubensis colonize all at about the same rate, I would blame the variables in spore quality, age, shelf time, maturity etc.
On a side note, I've had B+ colonize in under 12 days from syringe, and from the same vendor and same 'strain' at a different time, have had them take upwards of three weeks in the same conditions.
