hey just wanted to pick the communities brain on slurrys...i've been reading the slurry in a hurry tek and eatualive's slurry tek also. I still haven't found any concrete ratio as to how much water you put with each pf cake.....eat said that he used a pint of water with 1 pf cake...but he said that it seemed a lil wet and that he was gonna reduce the water content, but never specified as to how much.....I want to take the slurry and inoculate a monotub using damion 50/50s coir tek...I've used Damion's tek a number of times with great results, I just want to bypass the grain jars and substitute it with slurry. I have a dozen colonized pf cakes that i want to turn into a slurry...and inoculate the tub...I know i'm gonna have to add some additional verm cause i'm introducing additional moisture, so was wondering if anyone had any ideas on that also.....

Probably isn't going to work well.

Why not spawn the dozen PF cakes to a 1:4 ratio of coir/verm?
Use a cheese grater on your cakes to produce very fine spawn to mix in with your coir, substitute the grated cakes as grain spawn.

yea its more fucking around than anything seems like an interesting concept , but practical application may be another story. Im gonna try it anyway.Eatualive pulled it off,so im gonna take a swing at it.
I plan on taking 2 cakes and blending them with 700 ml of sterile water, then mix that into my 18 gal mono tub and adding some extra verm to offset the extra water probably gonna use 2 cups of additional verm.
If it works great, if not thats cool too. I have plenty of good LC so im gonna blast my jars with 2 mls and proceed as usual, but thought this would be interesting to try out

The cakes are a huge nutrition source, so the more you add the more you'll get out of it I think. As long as you do it cleanly I don't see a problem, looking forward to pics.

also since im adding 700ml of water extra, ill have to adjust it back to field capcaity with more verm. so i guess i should take 700 mls of water then keep adding verm till im almost at field capacity, since the cakes themselves will soak up some water too. Does that sound reasonable?
Eatualive used 1 pint of water for each half pint cake and said that seemed a lil soupy. What im shooting for is a muddier texture , so im gonna use 350 mls of water per cake the first batch and adjust from there if needed. Ill post my findings good or bad lol!!!! obviously using 2 cakes for slurry per tub. Probably add a lil gypsum to help out with nutes too.
