Is my tub stalling?

These are pictures of my WBS to Coir mono tub taken on 04/01/11:

And these are the pics I took today (6 days later):

I put it into fruiting conditions yesterday, I have a gut feeling something might be wrong, the mycelium looks sort of deflated so I thought I'd see what you guys thought before something went wrong.

I had the same problem, just not as bad. Your substrate is dry. Add 4.5 quarts to your substrate, not 4 or less. There is no way to effectively rehydrate a substrate after this happens to my knowledge. I had to start over. GL
EDIT: If you're not ready to give up on it, I recommend dunking the substrate rather than spraying it. You may be able to hydrate it that way without damaging the top layer of mycelium too bad.

I can not accept defeat yet, would you recommend filling up the tub with water? how would I drain the excess? Thank you for the advice btw,

Look up dunking substrates, or mono tub dunking or something to that effect. There are plenty of sources in the search function I'm sure. You should act fast though before the mycelium is permanently damaged. They don't like dehydration.

I'm really paranoid the tub is going to contam, can i spray some H2O2 to just improve my odds of fighting off contams?

Ok so It's a no on the h2o2; thank you for the quick reply anon. From my understanding peroxide didn't harm mycelium, why is this not always the case?

It's not necessary for a dunk on an almost fully colonized cake, none the less on coir which is hard to get contaminated anyways. H2O2 can stall and mutate growth in higher concentrations. It's best not to use it if you don't need to.

It doesn't harm it when there's cobweb growing on it and you need to spray it.
It most certainly does harm perfectly healthy mycelium.
The next time you get a pinset, spray h202 directly onto the pins and watch every single one abort.

really? so using peroxide, you could force mutation?
