Not entirely. I support wars of self-defense, as well as revolution, and that's about it. There may be some other exceptions I haven't thought of, tho.

Yes i am against war. That doesn't mean i dont understand the reason for it, just that i like to hold a higher standard for humanity....something to strive for? I would defend my home, and family in specific situations, but avoiding conflict would be the first action. I would not fight in any revolution or war.

I am against the war that is going on, and was against Vietnam. WWII was okay because we were attacked first. This war and Vietnam, no one attacked us, we just went in there.

Saddam did not attack us on 9/11 btw... I would be for this war if we had hard proof that he DID do that, even though it wouldnt help stopping terrorisim!

...yeah, but you cant just go forgett about someone for 10 years, then after your attacked by a different party, claim it was tied to old "enemy" and then do an invasion of his country so beneficial to your own, that it makes me sick.

..oh, no wait....you can! :frown:

Yes...but there is only one way the world will ever achieve world peace, and that is when and if the people of the world start seeing themselves and each other as part of The Earth and not part of any country, nation, territory, state, city, race, religion, ect. Because of human nature, my theory is that this will not happen until some other alien species attacks Earth and forces us to unite to protect our beautiful planet (which i might add that we are not helping with all the pollution and what not, but that's a different topic). The irony of my theory for peace is that we will most likely have to fight the other planet but what the fuck thanks for reading my opinion and i apologize for all the run-on sentences...peace

pretty much everyone in here that is antiwar says something like this, but just because YOU ignored saddam for ten years doesn't mean the US gov't hasnt kept a very close eye on him. Ever heard of operation Desert Fox?

I believe that we planned on going after Saddam before 9/11. I think if anything 9/11 slowed us down.

If that is so, i would feel alot better about this war. What irks me is that they go after saddam for wmd, and terrorism, then its all about the iraqi people.

It's not like it's a minor point. Unless we learn not to support and prop up savage dictators for decades we'll be doing this same cycle over and over again. Which is no doubt what the corporations want to keep "defence" spending high.

Let's get this back on topic, folks. The question was not "Is this war justifiable", the question was (to paraphrase) "Is any war justifiable".

To answer the question posed by mushmaster -- "is anyone here totally opposed to warfare for any reason? a complete pacifist?" -- my answer is that I am not a complete pacifist. There are times when war is necessary.

please stop with this assinine point. saddam came to power on his own, and we decided to use him against iran, who was a much greater enemy at the time. every major power in the world does this, so stop trying to use this as a point. really, it just makes you look stupid when you can't find anything new to say.

yeah, i read somewhere that Bush has had a plan for stabalizing the middle east ever since he came to office, and saddam was the first bastard on the hit list.
