If you can buy it, sure its pretty legal to grow, but prolly not for consuption at least some of them, You can grow poppies, but you are not susposed to harvest them. Just look at them, but check your local law, look for a list of ban plants.

Yea... that's what I was thinking but with the internet nowadays you can buy from out of area. So you never know what might be restricted locally.
I had heard that you could be tried for schedule 1 drugs in plants but I don't believe that to be true. Just gonna have to keep digging for information. Thanks Guys.

After reading through this list I will have to say that I too want to know the ultimate legality of these plants. I may just have an ethnobotanical garden this year.

Yea just dont tell every one and their mom, What they are used for,or if you are going to use them, Think that is conspiracy, which makes them illegal- If someone asks just say thought they were pretty.

The issue is not so much on if they know... Its can I grow them in the open? Guess I should have been more clear. I have the ability to grow them outside and really don't want or need more plants indoors. But the street out front is busy and I don't want unneeded attention either. So I wish to find out if these plants are illegal to own. I have found out that salvia is illegal in many areas... not sure if Washington (or city, county) is one of the banned growing sites.

Are you growing them in a green house? There is a number of plants in your list that I'm 90% sure can't survive a Washington st. Winter.

It's spring here now... and I do have a small shed for growing. But some of the variants are hardy enough to last winter if wrapped. I just want to know what I'm getting into before I get into it... If ya get me.

Kt... Those are invasive plant restrictions....
I am guessing, if you were to grow any plant other than pot or maybe opium poppies, no one would know what it was.... If asked, say some other name... African bush tea or Japannese mojo juniper
Really... As long as your not selling the stuff... Think the cops have better things to do...

Yeah I just posted it b/c some plants I've been reading on are invasive weeds and such... There are ALOT of DMT plants...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_psychedelic_plants
Small list of those plants... lol. The reason for concern of that matter is straight from there site...
"It is illegal to transport, buy, sell, or trade any quarantined species.
It is also illegal to distribute seed packets, flower seed blends, or 'wildflower mixes' of those plants.
Persons violating the quarantine restrictions are subject to a civil penalty of up to $5,000 per violation."
But alas I have been unable to find any reason, other than the invasive species, as to why it would be illegal to have these plants. I will update if I find out more.

Okay... I talked to some people and a college professor... Seems that as long as it isn't Illegal as a noxious weed mojority of plants are legal for groth. Even some places plant extracting of chemicles is legal as long as "Not intended for human consumption"... Ha Ha. I would be careful with plants under debate as per salvia... But other than that "I'M GOING FOR IT!"... Wish me luck!
