Come to Atlanta. We're a pretty progressive city with cheap living and a lot to do. Always shows and great food and festivals. There is a lot of cool neighborhoods here and the weather is fan-fucking-tastic. It's going to be 75 and sunny tomorrow.

There are a lot more wild mushies in Oregon than Colorado. Just something to consider since your posting on this site.

Everyone on the east and west coast has that attitude about transplants being unwelcome. People are very hostile towards travelers.

You should welcome transplants if your not native american. What makes you so special that you can reject someone who because they like your location enough to move there?

It's an elitist thing with them I think.
Its like how Shroomery members are sometimes hostile towards people because of their reg. date.

Wow thanks for so many great replies, I kinda understand the hostility, after people have been doing something or been somewhere for X amount of time they get a sense of entitlement. I used to be that way but Ive accepted that nothing is original anymore and dont waste energy thinking badly towards someone whos life doesnt even affect mine. live and let live

Ha Im far from rich and not a doushebag but what attracts me to Boulder is how close the mountins are and the general focus on things to do outdoors.
if that's how you spell, then perhaps you should stay in the south.

I read a sign in Eugene that said "visit, but dont move here". The place is flooded with wingnuts...people walking around talking to themselves, shouting inanities and pulling around funny briefcases/wagons/etc.

Boulder MOST DEF my man. Boulder is super chill, Colorado is super chill. We are a medical marijuana state, Telluride Mushroom Festival!,Denver is dope and is like only 40 mins away from awesome superchill/small but with a lotta perks/College town(Booze, Drugs, Psychedelics easy as to acquire),(South park takes place in this state). I would choose BOULDER. Granted I am a little bias because I was born and raised and still am in Denver, Colorado. Colorado is an amazing place, In the center of the United States, meaning we have Styles both East Coast and West Coast, North,South(We everyone BITCH!). CHOOSE COLORADO!
P.S.- We're a mile high...We GET A MILE HIGHER!
P.P.S -I'm pretty fucking high

I don't trust boulder because of how into 4/20 they get, that requires a surplus of douchebaggery and immaturity. I imagine a lot of white people with dreads live there, no thanks.
Huge
OP I moved to Boulder about a year ago and I'm loving it. There's pros and cons to every town. Hipsters and generally bad people are unavoidable. Choose a town where you can cope with these negatives best.
Another really cool town that I would highly recommend you look into is Austin.

Agree with everything you said. One exception Austin, I hate it there.
