Hey all! I have returned to Shroomery for the 2011 season unfortunately in my off months i didn't really come on here except to read the occasional trip report. But now the next season is imminent and I'm very excited. Last year was my first experience with mushrooms and wow did it open my mind! I'm hoping to pick plenty of juicy subs this year. However, last year near the end of the season (after our local spot had been absolutely raped by everyone) eventually the council caught on i think and sent some evil faceless men from the council to kill the shrooms with some kind of poison spray?? At least thats what I think they were doing. Do you shroomites think this will affect growth this year?? I really, REALLY hope not.

Hey dude, the poison shouldnt be strong enough to effect growth of the mushrooms this year , as mushrooms drop millions of spores once the veil has opened, one would expect them to keep fruiting this year
My only bit of advice would be to get in there early or simply find a new spot as the other pickers obviously havn't forgotten about your spot

Apparently we may be in for some rain in this next week. I thought about planning a hunt while at the bus stop yesterday, then realised i was sweating because of the heat, and that put a swift end to my psilo-fantasies. They will come when they are ready

It's about that time again I have seen many random shrooms around melbourne recently, but it still seems pretty dry so far.
Here's hoping for the same luck I had last year

settle down, there wont be any mushrooms for atleast two weeks i'd say, probably more. The seasons are shifting , in my opinion. summer is starting and finishing later.

This thread is quickly filling up with useless weather posts...

Indeed it is.
@Everyone else: I will delete all weather reporting posts from now on so don't moan at me when I do so. You have all been warned.
