Yeah that cake looks fine, though its hard to tell for sure with the quality. If it spreads theres a problem but i highly doubt it.

Thanks. I had just put a light over today too good thing I took it off. Nothing is spreading and it smells like fresh air. More pics on my profile.

ok, those are one of two things; mycelial excrements (Myc piss) this is perfectly normal
or
Pins (baby mushrooms) normal also, they show up from too much light on jars.
good luck

Pic is pretty blurry, but that's probably just vermiculite being pressed against the glass. Or metabolites like dizzyease said. If it smells fine, then you're probably fine.
Also, an indirect, low-level light cycle during colonization is said to be beneficial by establishing a "natural" circadian rhythm. You may not see colonization times noticeably decrease, but it will benefit fruiting and the overall process in general. The whole "keep jars in total darkness throughout colonization" thing is outdated info.

I let the jar finish colonizing. Got a spot of green mold but cut that half of the myc off. Dunked and rolled the rest of it and now im crossing ny fingers and hoping my humid box works wonders. I just need one cap to cusp properly so I can harvest spores and this will have been a success.
