Are you asking what is causing these?

If so, then, IDK. Ive been seeing a nephrologist (kidney DR) and he's trying to find out why. Whether its hormonal or dietary.
The problem is, is that they need like a 3-7 year window to see if what they're doing is actually working. It's quite frustrating:mad2:.

Im on meds, but they wont know if this course is actually working for some time. My 1st stone passed in 2005 and Ive passed countless since. Most have been small 1-3 mm (which still sucks) but this one was too big to pass, so they had to go in a take care of it. Shitty thing is, they need to do my left side now too. So, round 1 is done, on to round 2.

They pretty much told me to get used to this, that it will probably be lifelong

Monday will bill in close to $30,000:facepalm: D.A.N.G!

damn, i've known too many people with kidney stones. wtf in our diets/lifestyles is causing so many people to have them?

i know soda and alcohol and possibly coffee can cause it. only cause my dad had gone through all this. i think he passed 3-4 times.

Those are the causes for a lot of people, and it's CONTRIBUTING to mine, however, there's something else going on inside of me that makes stones more than the average Joe.

My body kicks too much calcium in to my blood, more than usual and my urine PH is such that it allows crystals to form (ultimately in to stones)

This one I had blasted, turned out to be 8mm instead of 7mm (over a 1/4 inch big)...so more or less, I have 500-600 stones now, instead of that 1...plus the other ones in that kidney they got while in there.

i wasn't thinking of any specifically, but i'm sure there are natural cures/preventive measures you can look into that aren't as invasive as "modern" medicine.

doctors are akin to mechanics; they know how to work on the body but not with it.

Definitely too much acid, but not necessarily lsd, lol.

Body will release calcium from bones to return pH of blood to normal levels if the blood is too acidic.

Anyway you cut it, OP is going to put DR's kids through college.

I'd find a new doctor.

I was making them long before I ever met any of these doctors.

Not to mention, new DR's = more tests and probably more radiation (Ive had plenty lately)

I've had two I think, what I believe was the first one happened to me in middle school but wasn't diagnosed, I was worried about it being my appendix but the doctors just thought I had colic or something. the second time was even worse but at least I was diagnosed, I still have the CT scans and a zoomed-in picture of my calcium oxalate stone laying around here somewhere.

all I can say is that shit fucking SUCKS. inescapable, dull yet stabbing, throbbing abdominal pain worse than you've ever felt, nausea, the whole nine yards. they were giving me opiates in my IV drip but it wasn't doing shit. haven't been through it again in quite a few years, but if you have a kidney stone once (especially as a kid) you're more than likely to have one again in the future so that's unsettling to say the least.

Lol, for a brief moment upon reading the first page, I though I AM SWIM was unbanned; only to realize it was 4 months ago that he last posted in this thread haha. As for the kidney stones, I really hope I never have to deal with them, they sound horrific >_<

Yeah man, I've been eating a lot healthier and also haven't gotten a stone since I stopped eating meat. there was only like a year or so between my first and second stones, but it's been a hell of a lot longer since my last one so I must be doing something right. I'm sure I'll have another one again someday but for the sake of my own sanity I'm just going to not even consider the possibility of being in your situation. you've passed hundreds of stones??? that's fucking awful man!

Luckily, until now, they've all been on the small end. Hopefully it either stays that way, or they go away all together (unlikely, but I am hopeful)
