Someone's PF cake, I reckon. See the clean cut, the fuzzy mycelium and the blue bruising on the base of the stipe?

I actually grew them myself on brown rice flower and vermiculite. It was my first time trying it, I only did it because a friend of mine had some mushroom spores that his brother got from a friend or something like that, and we were wondering if they would grow. That's why I dont completly trust them. I dont know who or where they came from. I don't want to die.
I realize now that I may have been a little hasty in posting this. I see there is more information you guys need to be able to ID these. I will make a spore print and take some measurements.

It was pretty obvious to me where they came from. You need not worry. You have Psilocybe cubensis.

Nice job for your first attempt at mushroom cultivation. Like I said, they are cubes. You should spore print them, but only to save spores for your next grows. No need to show us the prints, though. They will be purplish-brown. And don't be surprised if some don't give you a spore print. You seem to have a few sterile specimen going there. Middle pic with the just opened cap that shows light cream colored gills. BTW, that's the stage of maturity that you should pick the ones you aren't printing so they don't get a chance to sporulate all over your tub.

Thank you. I know I may seem paranoid, but I have read so much stuff about how hard it is to tell for sure what you have. I knew nothing at all about mushrooms 30 days ago, and I still don't know much now. I didn't even plan to do this, It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. We were like "lets see if these will grow" so we got on the internet and did a little reading, went and got some supplies and learned as we went. I actually didn't think it would work. I'm glad it did though, because it was really interesting watching them go through all their stages. I can't wait to try again. I know I can do better next time.

Thank you. I appreciate any information I can get. I want to learn and try again. I am hooked on growing these now.

The natural habitat pictures and the blue bruising would indicate Cubes. Am I mistaken or are those things resting on kombu?
-------------------- I need tropical cultures, ABM, V.v....!!!! Well things don't always look as they are and things can be misread and mistaken for what they realy are so don't read too much into what I say since I might be mistaken myself. And remember I rarely ever give a definate answer.

I don't know what kombu is. If you mean the black paper, that is just black paper. I put that there because they were touching the perlite.

Kombu is a type of kelp used in Japanese cooking. The black paper looks just like it in the pic. I was wondering why on earth you would have chosen that to place below shrooms. It did inspire me to make miso soup for dinner. I am simmering the kombu and dried shiitake as I type this. Sorry for the confusion.
