aweosme thread and its good to see a true assesment on what chronic THCx injestion leads to. I have noticed obviouse benefits from quitting, but not enough to make me want to quit forever. I like to stick with the

"get my shit done, smoke as a reward" kinda thing

That's pretty much it though. Besides the money you're saving, but I personally like smoke better than green paper.

When I stop, no appetite, I can't sleep, I'm irritable, stressed out. The world is just abrasive.

Smoking makes it smooooth

I dreamt nearly every night with heavy cannabis use. the no dreaming thing is a myth.

Yea I gotta agree with propensity here...
I RARELY dream, and I smoke every night. When I stop smoking I have the most intense, vivid dreams, it's crazy.

I've definitely noticed a massive difference in dream intensity and recollection. From what I've read, you're the exception.

This is highly dependent on the individual IMO.

If your the sort who can only smoke everyday or never then, yes, this probably applies. But that's usually the individual's own fault because, essentially, they're abusing it.

But if your the sort of person who can be responsible about it and use it with moderation then I would saying smoking weed every now and again is definitely better than totally abstaining from it. Handling it this away turns it more into a psychedelic than a sort of "anti-depressant".

Also, Weed only affects my dream state if I A) binge on it and smoke like everyday for a week or B) if I smoke right before I go to bed. If I smoke and wait a few hours before I fall asleep my dream-state is, pretty much, normal. Then again, I tend to be able to remember a lot of my dreams in great detail and have gotten pretty good at inducing lucid-dream type states.

I guess after  reading the replies of this thread its just different strokes for different folks.  I agree with whoever said that I need to incorporate my pot smoking in a way so that I can function the way I want to buts it will be challenging to find a happy medium as I either go all in or all out.  gotta work on self-control.

I've cut way back. I just realized it has its time and place, I got tired of being an incapable zombie all of the time. Its well and good to use when you can't fall asleep, or to kick back and watch a movie but shit man smoking all the time killed the magic for me. I guess im just not a social smoker any more, I just go silent and cant keep a thread of conversation going at all, so I end up isolated in my room.
But now that I've (pretty much) stopped, I can actually make a business phone call with no anxiety whatsoever. I go to work and feel professional. I fucking trust myself now. I can wake up in the morning, and hell yes I can finally dream again.
Living stoned was cool and all back when I didn't give a fuck, but its kinda nice to actually do shit.

I'm going to be honest: I have quit weed, for weeks at a time, on several different occasions, and I noticed absolutely no change in my general state of consciousness.

I mean, I guess it depends on how you smoke weed. If you smoke weed all day every day, then no fucking shit you're going to feel different when you quit. If you smoke lightly every evening, you probably will not notice a difference.

I was just a weekend warrior when it came to pot, but I still notice a difference.  But I also quit for a lot longer than a week.  See if you can go a year, and then tell me it doesn't make a difference.

There are benefits to both sides for myself.

I enjoy getting baked for days at a time, while I also enjoy taking a few weeks off.

I sleep better, wake up earlier, go to sleep earlier, etc.

Buuuut, playing/listening to music while blazed :feelsgoodman:.  It just can't be recreated sober.  I can come up with some fat bass lines while I'm fucking ripped that never would have even crossed my mind sober.

I dream every night, yet my dreams are easier to remember and much more vivid during my breaks.

Herb is good; life is good; you just have to find the perfect balance which is different for everyone.

I'm about to smoke a fat bowl....:sun:

I'm on day 6 right now - I have been busy, and I just kinda stopped.

To be honest I've gotten pretty bored of it.  I barely get stoned anymore.  I'm gonna give it at least until the end of exams I think to see how I feel.  I may even stop completely, but who knows.

I haven't noticed a change at all yet, but it's only been a few days.  I figure I need to wait at least a month before I really start to notice the effect (if at all).

And about dreaming: I never dream.  Not before I smoked pot, and not after I stop.  Maybe once every 2 months.

My gf on the other hand smokes every day and dreams a LOT every night.

Whenever I quit smoking i lose my appetite for about a week and eating becomes a chore but then it eventually comes back as strong as it was before.

I was forced to quit for a year because my dumbass got caught. I felt a little more clearheaded, but overall I didn't notice that much of a difference. Sometime a good bowl is just so relaxing especially in such a stressful world. I think smoking weed when you feel the need is probably better for you than forcing yourself not to.

Coming up with unique riffs and lines is much better and easier while faded or tripping i must admit. But as for overall playing and chops, I do much better sober.
