Also my casing has alot of pins forming up...
i'm assuming here but please correct me if i am wrong did you crumble your cakes and then put a casing layer over them?
If so next time look into spawning you seem like you have already mastered the standard PF tek so i would recommend moving on to spawning.
You can take those same cakes and crumble them up and mix them into a bulk sub thus resulting in alot more spawn which equals more fruits. Here is a link that i find helpful. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11961453
welcome to shroomery and congrats on the grow lookin good

thanks! yea i crumbled 2 cakes to make that. cased it with premixed that i got a while ago but was still nice and moist.the cakes are doing fine now luckily. small fruits but plenty of them. Im noticing my casing is covered with pins but....they seem to be stalling. Im getting a few mushies starting up the sides of the tray, not on the top...any suggestions on that? Just more FAE? i fan plenty, have the room set up with small oil heater, box fan on low, cool mist humidifier.

side pins are not really going to hurt you. the pins just form where ever humidity is most optimal for their growth. some of my biggest mushrooms have been side pins but some people just don't like them because they can be hard to pick. best way to prevent side pins is with wax paper. You can cut a piece of wax paper and crumble it into a ball. then unfold it and lay it over your substrate. this will keep in humidity just like the sides of your trays. change out the wax paper when it gets damp. this is not the most necessary thing at your stage of growing but it can help. i definitely recommend it if you move on to bulk trays. i actually stopped using casing layers with my cubes and just use wax paper and i get full canopy flushes every time even with multi spore inoculations.

the wax paper is working it's magic...thx again. A bunch of pins are plumping up. i like the simplicity of cakes so far but as for fruiting, i can see the benefit of bulk. next time im gonna try w/o the casing.

Glad to hear the wax paper is working for you. Once someone recommended it to me I never stopped using it. Its really crazy when you move from cakes to bulk trays or monotubs. you go from having 1-4 ounces to lbs. 4 jars of wbs spawned to coir in a monotub is not much work and the reward is tremendous.
