I'm constantly scaring the crap out of people in shops by moving up behind them silently. They turn round and go "Jeezus christ you move quietly for a big guy!" Then I go "What do you mean 'big guy'? You saying I'm fat?" Then I stab them with my tanto.

lol do you envelop them with a black aura?
haven't had any human sneak up on me yet, have had weird experiences though.
once an old lady tried to sneak up on me, turned around, and she smiled at me, then i quickly disemboweled her with my wakizashi.

I do this to people all the time. I work in retail, and it's kind of noisy. So I walk right up behind people and start talking and at least once a day somebody freaks.
I've thought about wearing a bell.

Just curious, what Type of katana is that? There are display katanas, and then there are practice and combat katanas, the first being the most common and cheapest, the ladder being around $1,500 or more for a safe, usable katana that's not going to snap or fly out of the hilt.

I'm pretty good at throwing knives, scissors and just about anything sharp so that it hits sharp part first.
I also know some practical sword techniques and stances, mostly european stuff, but i know some Asian stuff too.
I looooove archery and and totally ninja at that. I know a rapid fire technique and i can shoot bout 20 arrows a minute accurately in case the bad ninjas are closing in
Oh... and smoke bombs! (thank you anarchist's cookbook)

wow, i'm only like 1:38 in and this guy sucks.
first the first minute or so is like in fast forward, and he has horrible form; he swings that thing like a baseball bat and at one point he launches the water bottle lol.
plus he doesn't perform noto, the act of symbolically shaking the blood off the sword before returning it to it's sheath.

mine's a $60 through-hardened carbon steel katana with full tang.
fully functional, but only built for light/medium targets, meaning i can't cut hard targets like bamboo or tree limbs.

I wouldn't be swinging it around at all. I bet if you examine the hilt it's got some shotty bolsa wood pins holding in the blade at two points rather than three cedar or metal pins along the blade. Be careful when bystanders are around...

they're actually bamboo, believe it or not. it's got 2 bamboo pins holding the handle to the tang, as is traditional.

Heres a better plan. Make thousands of pairs of ultra durable cheap tabi boots. Make awesome commercial and rock them everyday. Proceed to make money off children who want to look like ninjas! I'd buy them.

Bamboo or harder wood are the two traditional. As long as you aren't using it in actual strikes or practice I'm sure it's fine for getting used to the weight of a steel Katana vs. wood. I finally got to take a few iaido classes and I'm still waay far too novice to use anything with a cutting edge, heh.

i've only swung it around for now, though i should've inspected the integrity of all the fittings beforehand, which i haven't done. so i'll either do that or hopefully sell it and upgrade to a better differentially heated katana.

I'm so stealthy that sometimes I'll be sitting watching TV and someone will walk in the room and change the channel, I'll go "Hey, I was watching that!" and they'll jump a foot and go "Shit man! I didn't see you sitting there!". A dunno what it's about, I'm 6', 240lbs, I'm hardly a little sliver you might not notice. Maybe I don't have a soul?

Cas Hanwei (Paul Chen) blades are the shit too. Cold Steel has decreased in overall quality this last decade. They are reverting to inferior steels. On a lot of their throwers and mid sized fixed blades they used to use Carbon 5, now they are using that 1055 sheet metal crap. On machetes and what not. Luckily they still use quality heat treated, tempered, leeched and quenched 1055 on their swords. That and their VG-1, and VG-1 San Mai steels are terrific.
Anyways, I'm a ninja cus I killed a squirrel last year with a throwing knife using the no spin technique from around 9 feet away.

I don't consider myself a ninja, but I can disappear from view if I want to. Just something you pick up being the kind of person who hates being in public yet forced to be packed in to tiny classrooms full of dozens of people.

One day I was looking around at the top of the cupboard with my hands for my dimebag and I knocked a ashtray off of it before it hit the ground and shattered I put my foot out and it landed right on top of it and balanced on it. It made me feel pretty fuckin ninja-ish
