i was told this in my other post.
Don't take them out until they are fully colonized.
If they are fully colonized, pluck the pins and save them for "microscopy purposes". They usually will not continue to grow after a dunk, but they MIGHT - your call. Aborts are still very spiritual, so save them.
If the cakes are fully colonized, you can always dunk them. Fully colonized cakes protect themselves well from contam. In my experience, soggy pins contam faster then the rest, so I pick them. If you're doing things right, these pins are trivial and not worth the risk.

meh, you may have just hindered your yield. especially since you are using such small cakes... If its your first grow dont worry too much you'll get something just learn for it. Next time, make sure you get those cakes out of the jars before they start pinning, BUT make sure to get them fully colonized first as well. get that happy medium
