Antibiotic Agar. To diliute or not to dilute?

So I usually dilute my regular commercial agar mix to about %50-%60 of the recommended density to promote faster growth when agar to grained
However when dealing with pre-mixed antibiotic agar from FP, I follow the recommended density and still get some bacterial contamination. It's not past it's expiration date.
should I add more than the recommended 100% density? what kind of antibiotic is in the FP brand? is there any way to make it more effective against bacteria?
I am trying to clone some wild specimens. I've isolated away from other molds/fungi but the moisture from the tissue is promoting bacterial growth.

i know this doesnt answer any of your questions, sorry. but just a thought.

If I could just add---if you use this approach, make sure that the liquid agar has cooled sufficiently or it will kill everything on the plate. It is a delicate balance between keeping the agar hot enough to poor and cool enough that it hasn't solidified.
With regards to antibiotics suspended in agar--they tend to be quite labile and many of them are also light sensitive. It is not at all unreasonable to think that they may have gone off.
