What is intelligence if self-mastery indicates it better than book learning?

i'd say that intelligence would relate to the ability to survive.

for example, i use a natal chart to better understand myself so that i am better able to get along with others.  i think this is a key to survival, the ability to work along with and survive among others.

i'd say then that the intelligence within self-mastery is precious to your survival.  an intelligent person has the mental and physical resources to better suit themselves to survival, and in my case, my survival depends on my interaction with my family and those people i encounter in everyday life as well.

if i am better able to understand myself, i am more likely to objectively assess a situation in order to bring myself to the safest and most appropriate decision.

if i'm not answering your question directly i apologize, i am enjoying your conversation.

Ghengis Kahn survived so well 2% of people are probably descended from him, but he was not known for his self-mastery. He was, however, known for his mastery of troops. So was he enlightened, intelligent, stupid, or what?
