Making Changa with old Caapi/Viridis leaves
    #14242785 - 04/05/11 04:32 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I've got some leaves that fell off of one of my Caapi, (and Viridis) but I didn't store them in any particular way.  I've left them on my shelf, in a small shrine area, for 1-1.5 months.

Should the dried unstored Caapi still be loaded with MAOi?

Would the Viridis still have DMT, even though they are dried in the same way?

Yeah the alkaloids will still be in there. Caapi leaves have harmala alkaloids in them but a couple hits of the leaf won't give you enough to affect you so it's best to make a 10-20x enhanced leaf extract before you infuse DMT into it.

The viridis leaves do have DMT content but it's still in it's salt form so smoking it is completely useless. You will need to do an a/b extraction on those to covert the DMT to it's freebase form which can be smoked.

I should have clarified that I had white and waxy orange freebase to be used.  Was hoping to make some Changa.  So with Caapi alone, you would need several leaves, which I have, for MAOi.  I think I can turn it into something - thanks!

What I meant was if you infuse your DMT into plain caapi leaf you won't be getting any effects from the caapi. You need to make a 10-20x extract first then infuse your DMT into that if you want an actual changa experience, plain leaf just won't cut it.
