I just clean the coffee grinder before/after grinding various substances.
Some water/soap and a sponge work wonders. Use a paper towel to dry and get up the stubborn pieces left behind.

Coffee grinder are way too small, that must be tedious to even attempt. Use a blender.

Did you try cutting them up into smaller pieces before grinding? I'm assuming by "chunks" you mean 2"x2"x2" pieces, if that's the case, chop them up or smash them with something heavy before throwing them into the coffee grinder. Seems like this will take you a long while.

Pestle and mortar might work. I once used the bottom of a baseball bat to crush up some seeds, it did the job.

Using a mortar and pestle for that stuff would probably give you RSI.

Mortar and pestle doesn't really work for cactus - too fibrous and not brittle enough.
Blender should work fine.
OP are you planning on doing an extraction of sorts or doing the typical boiling it in lime-water?

Mortar and Pestle... Now which one is which?
Works fine for me. Every time I've worked with dry material i've ground up the stuff by hand. It definitely takes a while but I use the time to meditate on my future experiences with the plant material. Last time I was in a pinch and didn't have any of my usual tools to work with so I ground up some dried chips in a bowl with the bottom of a glass spice jar. One time I used some sort of rod-like thing that was designed to crush mint leaves in a mint julep.
I suppose I could just cough up 20 bucks for a coffee grinder at bed bath and beyond, but what's the fun in that? I don't even drink coffee
