i just was getting ready to go for a walk, a few minutes ago. i wear a black jacket, sort of grungy looking pale green carharts, dark sunglasses, and a dark blue sweatshirt with the hood up under the jacket. after all it's sunny and cold where i live. i remembered i have this bright green hat, so for other people's sake i'm wearing that too. even though i'm a vegetarian pacifist, will only fight to defend myself, people might get the wrong idea by what i wear. so i have to go out of my way to put their minds at ease. just because i don't judge people so much by their appearance, other people are still stuck in that way of thinking.
same thing, when i was homeless i had a beard, which i still have, was pretty dirty and smelly and whatnot. but i had these sort of Bono (from U2) light blue "sunglasses", i put that in quotes because they were so light you could easily see my eyes thru them. wearing those glasses i was immune to any judgement by anybody. people instead of glaring at me, which they usually do to homeless people, would have this look on their face of like a blissful smile from having their minds blown by what they were seeing. i have no idea WHAT they were seeing, i just know that i felt happy behind those glasses and everyone around me did too. so in conclusion, i think you should wear a santa claus hat on top of your hood to blow your dad's mind.

First off, I'd like to note that the contributions on 'controlling types' have me re-evaluating some of my own behaviors and presumptions.
However, I'd just like to put out there that the hoods 'n' headphones might be construed as passive aggressive, as a means of exerting control in their own right. I suppose one response to this might be that any individual has the right to control their body and it's immediate surroundings. However, I think that the effect extends outward quite a bit further, casting a pallor over a room or an entire household.
I'm just imagining standing in my kitchen and having this dark, non-responsive form drift through it, creating this blind spot with which I can no longer interact.
I'll shut up about this now, I think. Hope it's not too annoying!

He's probably just worried about you, at 25 still arguing about cleaning rooms? Weird stuff....You should want to have a nice space, not only for your self but also because its your dads place and you want everything to stay nice for him.
