B+ Spore Print In Jar

I carefully with a sterile utnesil removed the cap of a B+ mushroom and printed in a jar with the lid on...i left it in there about all day and quickly opened the jar lid, stabbed the cap in the center quickly with a sterile knife and took it out leaving me with this

Tomorrow im going out to buy syringes to suck this up into a spore syringe...How long can i keep these wet spores sealed in a jar with a lid? Im buying syringes tomorrow for it.

If the container is airtight then the spores will keep for a very long time, my guess is 2-3 years.

Here's a quote from RR about ten year old spores:
Quote:
There's almost a zero chance they're still good. After five years, I've found very few prints that will germinate at all, and that's with good spore storage technique. Contrary to popular belief, spores don't last very long, especially cubensis spores. When you hear of people using five year old spores and succeeding, it's the exception rather than the rule. RR

I thought people would like the idea of how i printed in the jar itself and when i go to make the syringe now i dont have to go through the hassle with scraping a print off into a jar because its already in the jar

So how much syringes you think i could make from this one single print? And how would i make more than one with it? Just squirt more than one syringe of sterile water on it and suck it all back up into each syringe?

Thats what I would do. Hell, pour 1/4 - 1/2 a cup of sterile water, shake it all up to distribute them throughout the water, then get as many syringes full as you can. Makes some LC's with 2 of the syringes.
By the way, I'm be sure to have a SFD or polyfill/self-healing injection port lids on the jars.

You could probably make 10 syringes off of that one print.

Just make a master spore syringe. When you want to make a syringe inject some of the master into a shot glass then shoot another syringe with sterile water and suck it all up.

I have officially fallen in love with cultivating mushrooms. Spores dont die they just multiply

I just now made out a 12cc syringe from that spore print. The water is very clear but i can see hundreds of spores floating in it when looked at up close. Should i try to make this one syringe into more?

I would. But I would wait until you are ready for another grow first. Or if you plan to trade them off. No use in having a bunch of full syringes hanging out if you arent going to use them soon.

Sorry to post here, but thought it was close to topic. I have a cap that i broke while trying to fit in a jar with a tyvek top. Should I take out and dry right away or will it be ok sitting for a while for a print?

As long as it was mostly sterile when you put the cap in the jar it should be OK for a print. But when taking an actual planned spore print you're supposed to be very clean and sterile and quick.
Sterile Technique = Success
...Im going out today to buy some rye and a pressure cooker Now the mushroom growing can really get started.

you say 10 syringes? Im using this current method now, with the same size possibly bigger print, so can I inject about 10 syringe fulls into the print and make one syringe and re-seal then make another one later, etc.

does that mean you only have one syringe? its not recommended, cause it would mean exposing that print-water-mixture ten times to airborn contaminants.
