Why 'Spiriutal Types' tend to work at low-paying jobs * 2
    #14238250 - 04/04/11 08:06 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

The answer is fairly simple. More education is directly correlated to higher pay. And the more educated a person, then the less they are likely to believe in superstition and paranormal silliness because they understand critical thinking.

Perhaps it is that people who are more spiritual see the futility of physical gain, and see reward in spiritual gain through helping others instead of oneself

And this demonstrates a clear lack of critical thinking. The more money a person has the more power they have to help others.

Cool. You'll get there for sure.

And not by reading and studying 'The Secret' wherein you merely wish for wealth while sitting on your meditation pillow.

"the Secret" was the only thing I've ever watched on netflix dumb enough to compel me to leave a review.

Unbelievable.

uhhh wtf this thread is such a stereotype.  Spiritual people are often some of the most successful on the planet.  You know Henry Ford actually believed in reincarnation? Personally I'm working my way through college right now, and makin pretty good money for a student while doing it, so i totally poop on your preconception :macdre:

How does believing in fairy tales make one 'spiritual'?

Not a fairy tale bro and i don't appreciate the patronizing tone.  As you come further into the moment your life gains a focus and it starts to seem as though certain aspects go beyond your birth, and will go beyond your death.  Reincarnation is a natural belief to hold.

I would say there is a weak correlation here. I am not sure what it is like in the states, there are people with PHD's that work in the lower income bracket, and it has nothing to do with lack of education.

Aren't you patronizing him by assuming that he hasn't been as far "into the moment" as you?

He probably has been as far into the moment as me at certain times in his life, the only difference is if you do it consciously and on purpose you can learn quite a bit about stuff. But idk how far OC has gone and i'm not saying I do, only that I know I have made a conscious effort myself to go inward, and so I can speak from experience a little bit.

And there you are struck in the BS chakra. With no one to take a certain (in their mind) bet, where else would I be?

12 years and not one ding bat to put me in my place.

I'd say it depends on what your PHD is in.  If you have a PHD in something that is, as I would say, based on reality, then you have a much better chance of having a high income.  However if you have a PHD is something like philosophy, which I would not call reality-based, then there are far fewer high income positions available.

why does spirituality = believing in superstition and paranormal?

why do professors make pittance compared to the douche bag 20something year old stock brokers
who are 1/2 their age and 1/10000 as educated?

wouldnt you think the answer would be cos
professors, spiritual ppl, artists etc,
dont value, money, power and material possessions in the same way that the higher earners do?
