a/c + hepa filter?
    #14237577 - 04/04/11 06:13 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

hey, so I finally got my a/c window unit from my friend to put in my grow room, and I'm wondering how effective it would be if I go and buy some HEPA Filter and tape it so its in front of where the a/c blows out air.. I have a forest full of trich across the street and would love some assurance as to if this will help or not... the only contam I've had in that room is trich when I had the window open with a fan last month...

thanks for any advice!

Seems to me that you would be constantly sucking in contam'd air in from the outside?

yeah but I have to, this apartment doesnt' have central air or anything and its getting far too warm to grow without an a/c at this point..

thats why I'm wondering if taping HEPA filter over the front of the whole a/c would help?

run your A/C window unit and then get a separate hepa like a little honeywell for inside.

Most window air conditioners suck in air from the room, cool it, and blow it back into the room.  The heat removed from the air is radiated out of the outside part.  There should not be much exchange with the outside if you do a good job of mounting it in the window.
