Did my first LC to agar and LC to quart rye grain today. I made this glove box. The arm ports are made from 4" toilet flanges called TKO (Total Knockout). Bought them at HD and the center was filled. You "knockout" the center with a hammer. I kept them and put them in to keep the holes blocked during prep (somewhat - not airtight). The flanges are attached with bolts:

I used silicone to seal the arm ports on the inside:

Here is the whole sha-bang:

The tub is a 64 quart Sterlite. I did not find it large enough to comfortably work with quart jars.

thats proper. dont worry about being airtight though. as long as you have unmoving or "stale" air, you should be ok. and by the looks of it, you'll be fine.

mine is almost identical. 64Q sterilite, sewer flanges, silicone....I got some long rubber gloves for $5 at harbor freight tools and they have big hose clamps that hold them on the flanges. BIG TIP!!!!!!!! Be very careful not to bump the lid/sides while working or it will suck air in and ruin your sterile tecnique. I put everything in mine, then I put 5 cans on the lid. Yep, soup cans. Peas. Carrots...whatever you got. Top left, top center, top right, bottom left and bottom right. It holds the lid down in case you bump it moving jars. The center of the bottom doesn't touch the table, so if you slam the jars down inside it will suck air in also. Slow and steady wins the race
