Australia is one of the best places in the world, if one is going to travel to aus i would definately say Melbourne or Sydney are the places to go. They are the best aus has to offer.

i'm from melbourne so i don't know about sydney, but i imagine it's much the same. i don't really smoke but alot of my friends do, apparently prices aren't so bad but you don't really find like skunk weed and all the really potent strains, its just standard weed here really i think.

Yeah because we are isolated from other continents we have pretty high boarder security so all drugs are usually made here... which = shit Ecstasy and LSD.
Ive only ever had RC's sold to me as LSD and the pills Ive had have been shit. Maybe its my dealers but I'm pretty sure its all like that.

iternet laws? what are they in australia? all i can think of is no child porn or hacking. nothing wrong with those laws. but we have fuck all freedom in other areas... i have been charged with 'using offensive language' for calling a cop a pig. only shit thing about australian internet is its about $50 a month for a 24mb/s with a 100mb download quota.

the bandwidth caps in Australia are too low. i would need to live somewhere that didnt restrict my access to the net quite so much.

Hers a little story from my time down under
I was staying in Byron back then in a hostel...
its a good 1 hour drive from Byron to Nimbin and i didnt have a car.
Rather than hitching as i normally do when getting about i met couple of German backpackers in the hostel.
And they had a car. And they also were making plans to buy weed and drive to Nimbin so we drove there...
When we got there they decided to navigate the town themselves to get a feel for it.
So they went and i went to my usual hook up spot where i bought few grams of nimbin bush, 1 hour later we drove back to Byron.
Well, turns out 2 german guys were approached on the street buy some crackheads and they bought SPIKED weed.
Which they smoked all in hurry when they got back to the hostel. I dont really know what was in that weed but it was TOXIC. Crackeheads sold them spiked weed and germans remained in stupor for the rest of the evening...
Now imagine a novice comes across such situation and how he or she will make up their minds about cheeba

i'm disapointed to hear that really, nimbin and byron are usually pretty friendly places. They are pretty much the hippy communes of australia. It's disheartening to know that dicey crap like that is being done, especially to tourists who don't know how things work and stuff. I don't like people taking advantage of others like that.

Hey fellow Australians,
for starters this thread is awesome, im in Melbourne but i definitely think if you want to holiday in Australia i'd try the Gold Coast or Sydney for those who are looking for good weather and tourist attractions. Herb prices are pretty good in Melb (im actually going hunting tomorrow and getting high, living the good life). But i think the weather is pretty iffy, however the culture is great if that's what you are after and the city is probably the best in Australia (Sydney has terrible infrastructure).
Cheers for referencing me to this desant

I went to Australia when I was a lot younger and have really fond memories of it. I would love it if I could go to graduate school there, particularly on the Gold Coast. Definitely a great country.

I have always wanted to move to Australia (until I realized how expensive drugs are lol). I had an option to finish University there but it was so expensive since I was not a resident (30K + housing etc).
Would love to visit one day though.

Well, I went to Perth once, it was a lot of fun, pretty laid back. I'll give credit to the Aussies for having the sense to get as far fucking away from the English as they could.

Its pretty chill. The drug prices and quality is pretty shit, not going to sugar coat it. I still manage. genuine Ecstasy and lsd are hard to come by. (for me)
We do have a shitload of dumb-backwards laws but you just have to man up and deal with it. I think its worth it. Im happy living here. Not that I have a choice really. Born and raised in the same little area.
Im trying to get my hands on some salvia seeds and my friend is doing a trip to Nimbin to get some cacti . Also on the plus side, we have a fuck ton of mushrooms growing basically year round in qld

If you live in QLD/NSW you should check out herbalistics. I'm not sure if we are allowed to link vendors who arnt associated to shroomery, but you can google it. They have a decent range of seeds.

My mate fell asleep on the beach, in melbourne, in a heat wave in summer. He got 3rd degree burns... He said his tendons were burnt. Gotta be careful, the hole in the ozone layer means very high UV. Its worst during November because thats when its biggest. Melbourne is the place to come for music, graffiti art, good places to drink etc. But its pretty cold during winter. Spring or summer is pretty nice ere. Sydney is shit for pubs and places to hang out and drink. Great beaches and scenery though.
Yeah its good, but our politicians are fuckwits, and the sun is a little harsh, and there are a lot of dickhead bogans around. Other than that its pretty good

Australia is such a nanny control state I'd fucking hate to live there. Gun grabbing, ban happy asshat legislators.
Here's a lengthy wiki article detailing their nanny antics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_Australia
Oh don't forget the best one: Australia to ban thousands of plants, including national flower

aging population that grew up during the prohibitionist period are stuck in there ways. Its sickening how old fat fucking pollies can legislate away citizens rights using scare mongering. The majority of the populace can't think for themselves and are stuck in the "just get tougher" politics. Its a waiting game, just waiting for the old fucktards to die and fresh blood with common sense to make some common sense amendments to social legislation that currently looks like a dogs breakfast. The australian media and law and enforcement community are in bed with each other giving reach arounds all day long, FUCKING PATHETIC NONSENSICAL SHITKUNTS. RAGEEEEE

Just spoke with my friend who lives near Brisbane
We went to graduate school together in 2007, but i had to drop out due to very poor health and other few factors.
Now 4 years on she graduated, got PR (perma residence in Aus) a job, money and most of all health and friends.
Me my problems started back in 2003 (PTSD, chronic anxiety, and few more)... Did everything as well and as best as possible... not only i didnt get back things i originally wanted in 2003, the last remaining things were taken from me

You can do that for most of the major cities in the world.
Australia and Antarctica are the only continents I haven't been to. Want to go to Australia sometime in the next couple years, but I got a couple other places on my list before hand.

I was born and grew up in Tassie, moved to melbourne about 2 years ago, living in st kilda
to be honest, i cannot stand sydney I think it's a bit of a shithole... all up for opinion though, really.
I love tassie... currently saving up some coin to buy a pad down that way. Best corner of the world to settle in. I love that place, "once a tasmanian, always a tasmanian" it will always have a place in my heart.
im not one for hot humid weather, i lived in coolum, QLD for a year and spent a bit of time up there with a family... admittedly i've seen fuck all of aus, my mother has done a fuckload of outback exploration for research chashing wild brumbies through the desert and she's seen so much of australia... she says it's some of the most spectacular stuff she's ever seen and "she's been everywhere man"
but yeah, the world is full of beautiful places... no dick measuring... different flavours all over the glove.. big beautiful hunk of rock we inhabit

Nah seeing someone get slashed in real life is worse than a movie, imo. It has a different feel to it.

australia has no political discussion about making changes to our drugs laws, unlike many other parts of the world. the show Insight doesn't seem to be interested, me and other friends have sent in a number requests for a show about australian drug reform but have got a response. i was hoping other australians would fill in the Suggest a Topic for Insight page and maybe start some sort of political discussion.

I went on Channel 10's 'The Project' recently to discuss the issue and many people I know through various groups which have some link to illicit drugs have been writing to local members and doing all sorts of things:
Enpsychedelia - Ecstasy on The Project
There are plenty of people trying to get discussion going, good to see there are more! It's just a lot of hard work. There are bits and pieces that pop up, and these need to be taken full advantage of.
Where are you located? Have you heard of groups like EGA or PRISM?

If that's because you're aiming for legalisation - I totally agree with you, and you'll find most people do. But, the whole thing is a difficult issue, especially since at the moment it is culturally very taboo - so the most important thing to do is break that down, start talking to people - just starting the conversation will plant the seed needed for change to transpire.
