Problems canning asparagus...still....WTF

I've tried it all now. I've filled it and left and inch of headspace, and also filled completely up. I swirl it around to get all the the air out then PC for 40 minutes. I even left it in the PC overnight to cool very slowly. When I take them out they are sealed but always full of air, WTF???? Where is the water going? Are they even good now they are quart jars that were full but after pcing have only 1/2 to 1 inch of water left in them. Can I open refill and PC again? ADVICE PLEASE>>>>

try using the hot water bath instead of the pressure canner

Mix some gelatin in, pc or boil and let sit, top with salt. A little air will be no problem.
