What strain did you use, what substrate and spawn? Its indoors correct? What kinda temps?

Im just about to start growing edibles and im looking for ways to do so indoors, in a mono, between 70-80F. Sorry for all the questions :confused2:

I've never seen this work-not even once.  The existing tray has been exposed to the elements and is covered with mold spores.  When you spawn it to new manure, those mold spores will germinate and outgrow the mushroom mycelium, taking over.

Don't....There is no point.  You will get less yield, you will increase the chance of contaminants by like 5000%, and this has been tried a shitload of times by growers in the past.  There is no up side to this......

--------------------
The mushrooms, which grow only during the season of torrential rains, awaken the forces of creation and produce an experience of spiritual abundance, of an astonishing, inexhaustible constitution of forms that identifies them with fertility and makes them a mediation, a means of communion, of communication between man and the natural world of which they are the metaphysical flesh.

Dumbest fucking advice ever given!  How do you expect there to be new knowledge gained if nothing new is ever done?

It's not new if it's been done a thousand times and nothing's changed for the latest attempt.

And if you think about it, if the nutrient in your substrate runs out before you get contamination, your contamination rate is zero, and comparatively any contamination would be an infinite increase.

I see your point, now lay down.  What I'm driving at is that there should also be a degree of experimentation in your projects.  How do you think coffee was found to be a beneficial supplement?  Fucking experimentation....

Sure, controlled intelligent experimentation is a good thing, and can lead to substantial innovations and improvements, but ponder this:

What if, instead, a thousand people had tried coffee, and found that their their mycelium had consistently died, then someone came along and said "Hey, I'm gonna try something new; I'll put coffee in my substrate"?

Everyone who was privy to what the last thousand attemps had yielded would say "Don't do that, because your mycelium will, as proven consistently in past experiments, die".

And anyone who came along and said that they were delivering dumb fucking advice would look like they hadn't bothered to think about what successful cultivation/experimentation attemps actually entail.

You don't push the boundaries of best practice by repeating oft-failed experiments identically.  Anyways, I'm argumentative tonight, so I think that's me out

Get a clue man.  Ok, here's an idea.  Lets try to grow mushrooms on dog poo.....I guess its a good idea in your opinion since you will gain some knowledge from it right?.....The bottom line is if something is PROVEN to be bunk, than why experiment?  Doing 5 minutes of reading will save you a few weeks of work.  Instead of doing the 3 weeks work and learning NOTHING!!
