Should i let my cakes pin inside the jars?
    #14228766 - 04/02/11 10:41 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

About 8 years ago, i did PF Tek. I dont remember letting the cakes pin INSIDE the jars.

Now, I read PF tek and it says to let them pin inside the jars.

I have 2 out of 12 cakes 100% colonized, and they are not pinning inside the jars.

Should I take them out and put them in the fruit chamber? or just wait and try and let them pin inside the jars???

Thanks

Link to the tek you are using?

Standard practice is to wait a full week after 100% colonization.

I would let them sit for the full consolidation week.  If they start pinning in the jar during that time my instinct would be to take them out, dunk, roll, and place in the fruiting chamber.

I don't see any advantage to letting them pin in the jar.

You don't have to wait for pinning in the FC.
