Nice! I'm going to guess and say that i see some violets, orchids, and trillium in there.
I'd like to know for sure what they are!

i'm sure you're correct on all counts. i need to learn more about wildflower identification. i'm not really into "cultivated" flowers, but the ones that grow in the wild enamor me.
i'll do a little research and update the pics with the proper i.d.'s.

Very nice pictures. I bet you live in south carolina or one of the bordering states. I went on a hike today as well and saw a lot of the plants that you have pictures of.
I love that copperhead picture you have.
I agree with Shins flower ids by the way.

close, but not South Carolina, Georgia. I try to hit the trails as much as possible before the unbearable southern heat bears down upon us. i hate the heat

i used to have an aversion to macro photography, now it's pretty much all i shoot.
my "hiking camera" is a Fuji film F30 (kind of an older point and shoot. but takes great low light, high iso photos). i've had a Canon 20D for years now. I've owned a few nice L series lenses in the past but had to sell them to pay for the rent.
I'd really like a kick ass macro lens for my 20D. The quality of the F30 just doesn't cut it for me.
Does that SX120 take high quality macro shots?
