Attempting to cut rectangular holes to stuff with polyfill (I dont have a drill) I shattered the side of my fruiting chamber. God damnit.
Either way I have a few backup tubs, but neither have lids.. how .. i dont know.. So before i have to run out and spend 15 dollars on a new sterilite bin, Could i use seran wrap as a lid for a monotub?? I wont be fanning because ill have polyfill stuffed in the holes

have you tried melting thru. It makes cleaner holes and whatever shape you need. I heat up a socket that is the same size with a torch and melt it. be sure to use plyers to hold it.

Sometimes fifteen dollars is a lot of money.
But yeah, borrow a drill or barter for one.

The small tomatoe paste cans are 2 inches in diameter. I heat mine on the stove top since its electric and just press it right on through.
I have a drill but melting it through makes for a cleaner hole

I actually just went through with the drill bit heat method, worked perfectly, But this post is about using seran wrap as a lid, not the hole making method.

Then use seran wrap as a lid. Maybe you can find some other type of clear plastic laying around that would be a bit more durable.

Agreed getting a phillips head screw driver fairly hot and using that to make holes is just about as good as a drill. Nice clean holes.

you could cut ziplock bags if you have them or if it's just a crack i'm sure duct tape could seal it up to make it air tight or even silicon?

I just dont understand. You shattered the side of your FC and now you need to use seran wrap? Pics of what you did lol?
This thread is turning into a stupid disscusion over using a heated screwdriver rather then a drill to punch holes in your FC
It may make a clean hole, but to sit there and make a SGFC or even something with less holes would be a complete waste of time with a heated screwdriver.

This makes more sense then a screwdriver. Deff if your making a mono.
Use seran wrap or a clear garbage bag if needed over the top. Its going to work.

lol go over to my other thread, this one is dead. and I shattered my FC like spider cracked all the way up so I went to using one of my backup bins. It just has no lid, so Im going to use seran rap. I repeat, the cracked tub is gone. lol.
