You're in The Great Outdoors, what answer do you think you're going to get?

I much prefer the country life. I'm stuck in the city until I finish school (2 more years) and then it depends on where I can get a job. If I could get a job up on the North Shore or in Duluth or something that would be so great. Either that or Northfield, MN. I like the small town, camping, woodsy, lots o lakes kinda deal.

City life is fun for a while but nothing will keep you down to earth like heading back home to the country. Plus after it get a good rain you can go cow patty flippin. SC is beautiful

I don't mind being the one vote for city. I like living in the city. A large city with all its conveniences and perks is not a bad thing as long as its not a sprawling metropolis that goes on forever (think SoCal). And if that city has close and easy access to the great outdoors that you enjoy then even better. Thats why I've always loved Vegas. I can live here, on the outskirts of town, and have all the perks of living in Vegas without feeling like I am confined in a metropolis. And at the same time I can be out of town in a matter of minutes when I want. And I have access to some of my favorite places in the world in in every direction I drive. Within a few hours drive or less I can be in some amazing places. Hell, just 30 minutes from my house are some amazing places that I love to go and I always have them all to myself. People just don't take advantage of whats right in our backyard. In fact, most people don't even know whats there!
In the meantime, when I'm not out of town I spend a lot of time hanging out in my neighborhood with the best group of friends I've ever had. All night block parties and not having to drive anywhere is awesome.

I used to think I wanted to live in a big city. i did for a while, 2 years in downtown San Francisco.
it has it's perks.
But if i had to choose, and I did, so I went to the country. If it were up to me, I'd go even "more" country than I am now. I'd love to live someplace where I couldn't even see my neighbors.

i was raised on a 400 acre farm, went to collage- got degree- got job- met wife- bought condo- i live in the city and hate everyday of it, i am forced to interact with people i dont want to talk to. they think i owe them my time because we live next to each other- what the fuck is that about? i am an ass hole to people purposely so they wont talk to me twice!! this helps me deal with my not liking city life too. when i retire im going back to alabama to the farm- and yes, fuck town!!!

I wouldn't trade my cabin in the mountains for anything. I have five mountains I can climb within a day hike of my front porch, and when hiking from home, I've never met another human being in the woods, ever. It's just too remote up here. It's a 7 hour drive to Seattle when I need parts or weed, but it's worth it to be living up here. RR

damn RR, you must live waaaaaay back in the Cascades! Epic country out that way.
I like to live in a town big enough to have some cultured aspects to it but not so big as to where i can't take a 10-15 minute drive and be out in the woods. I need access to independent films, intelligent people/conversation, beautiful women, good food, and great hiking/camping/tripping spots.
still searching for that place.

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

It depends on which city or which part of the countryside.
I love both but for me the city has to be a proper city and the countryside has to be proper countryside, not the sort of inbetween.
City life is expensive.
