How is asking for someone to go on hunts for mushrooms against the rules in the hunting mushroom part of the forum?

Here are some pics from my hunt yesterday - I couldn't get many shots of the subs in situ as they were usually growing either on their own or in pairs.
There may be a few pins in there (sorry Alan) but I was showing some new hunters the ropes and we needed enough for us all to have a good time

If you have an IQ of over 80, it's pretty easy to see how dumb that rule is.
The amount of traffic this little rabbit would have potentially generated on the site went from a possible truckload to this last hit.

If you say so. Consider on the other hand the risk that encouraging the activity poses to the personal safety of the users, as well as the amount of clutter generated by a huge number of meetup request threads.
we don't have to like the rules, just to read them before posting and follow them. if you stick around, you'll find that the gathering forum is pretty cool for that purpose, and this one is pretty cool for the purposes it's intended for.

Please do not pick babies! It is destructive! If you do not allow the mushrooms to open up and drop spores that means there will be less next year... Picking babies aren't going to do much for you when you eat them anyway! Seriously, PLEASE do not pick them that small! Not impressed!

All rules are dumb. That is the nature of rules. If you want to meet up with another user, use PM's.

When showing new hunters the ropes it is especially important to refrain from picking pins.

Exactly. Pins can easily be mistaken. Some characteristics of mushrooms used to identify them from others are only evident once the veil has broken. It would be easy pick a poisonous mushroom and mistake it for something else when it is that young. Take a galerina for example. The annulus can only be seen once the veil has broken. They look almost exactly like psilocybe subaeruginosa. Google it and look at images and you will see what I mean. IMAGES LINK

To be quite honest I couldn't care less about picking pins or not - there are PLENTY of mushrooms to go round producing more than enough spores. Realistically, picking one or two pins isn't going to make a difference
Not trying to be inflammatory, it's just my opinion.

I never broke that rule, or any other as far as I can tell. Anyway it isn't important.
