That you loose sensation in your hands, feet (and body)?
It happened to me last weekend when I had many beers and joints. Add to that my memory glitches, I keep forgetting words, and my short attention span, (My attention span was always pretty short) I think I should stop drinking for a while.
Has anyone here noticed permanent effects of alcoholism? Loss of attention span, lapse in memory / lower overall brain function? I know all these things can be caused by alcohol, but I never thought they would happen to me.
This is one problem that won't be alleviated by having a cold one.... Dammit!

I used to have a friend in college who was a major alchoholic. She said her hand started to go numb. It was like that for months she said. I dont talk to her anymore. I wonder if its still numb.
I got trashed last night with this girl im seeing. Ugh..
I am normally a relaxed guy but I got semi blackout drunk and started yelling and waving at random folks in the bar. The bartender told my girl to get me in control.
lol
Not only that but I tend to say things I normally wouldnt. I told this girl how much I liked her. Ugh...

No, and I drink a hell of a lot. (~25 units a day, on "normal" days.) Most of the ill effects of drinking too much are due to the usually accompanying terrible diet. Not that I'm saying you shouldn't cut down on the booze. And the herb, judging from your memory/attention problems. And make sure you're eating properly. Poor diet has a huge impact on mental health.

Ahh... U could be right there. I don't eat nearly enough fresh veges, pretty much no fruit whatsoever except avocados which I have also been binging on. ahhh avocado season, my favorite season.
Plus I'm a vegetarian so not eating veges and fruit is a bit of a problem lol.
Yeah it could have just been the combination of tobacco weed and beer that made my extremity's numb the next day. It really freaked me out though, and my brain didn't get back to normal functioning for like 2 days, I just want to make sure I'm not permanently downgrading my ability to function.

I just looked up what a unit of alcohol is, its a standard drink. How in the name of christ, when you have had 25 standard drinks, do you take care with what you eat? If I drank that much I'd be eating tablecloths etc...
Impressive though, you must have an iron liver.

Please don't be impressed, I'm not proud of myself (well sort of ), and yes, I guess I have a very resilient liver. Comes with coming from a long line of alcoholics on my Irish father's side... But yeah, aside from the stress on the liver, which it can get used to to a certain extent, most of the physical/mental effects of alcoholism are caused by malnutrition due to replacing food with booze, rather than the booze itself.
yeah, anyhoo, stop drinking so much, you mad eejit.
