Hello.
Please bear with me I am a newbie.
History: I have successfully grown two batches ( about 10 cakes each) this past winter of cubes - teacher type. I used the basic BRF tec using the 1/2 pint jars followed by the shot gun FC.
Presently.
Now I wish to expand and try growing Cambodian- Psilocybe Cubensis.
I am confused a bit confused on which technique will give the best yield.
I have collected a couple of great pails of horse poo which is dried sun dried etc.
However what I need to understand is:
Am I better to just continue to keep it simple and grow the cambodian in the BRF followed by the standard method of the fruiting chamber with the cakes sitting on the moist perlite?
or
try expanding and trying to use the horse poo?
Would it make any real difference in either the yield or potency?
Thank you in advance.
p.s I did search for a few hours to find information on this but was unable to find it.

Cubensis are cubensis, it doesn't matter if it's teacher, cambodian, amazon or ecuador. They all grow the same.
I would colonize those jars, pasteurize the poop with some vermiculite and put it in a trashbag lined tray about 5 inches deep, let that colonize, let it sit for a week past full colonization, sprinkle some verm on top then put it in your fruiting chamber.
Trays yield more than cakes (unless you do a lot of cakes) and potency simply depends on the genetics. (again, nothing to do with "strains" that you buy on the internet. you get a different strain every time that spores germinate and mate. Fungal genetics are much different from plant genetics.

Thank you so much, that gave me some good insight into a better way of growing.
I watched the films about cultivation and I feel that I am ready to switch over and use rye grass for cultivation.
It seems the most logical step which allows me to keep the growing process continuing due to being able to just keep transferring the inoculated rye grain (once cultured with mycelium)to more un-inoculated jars.
Therefore, last question is: Is it OK to cultivate the Cambodian- Psilocybe Cubensis onto rye grass seed?? (rather than BRF)
