While NIN wrote the song I think Johnny Cash brings mad flavor to the song. What do you guys think of these songs? Personally I didn't like them at first but they grew on me. Honestly I like Johnny's version better but they're both cool. Very emotional songs as well.

Johnny Cash's version is definitely better.

I was just listening to the Cash version not even a few minutes ago.
Tough to choose a preferred version, was NIN but nowadays it's Cash.

Just the timing of cash's cover makes it better to me (i mean I think its a better song overall too). He did it at the end of his life, looking back on everything. I mean, i'm not saying he was a miserable guy but he certainly seems to have had his demons.

What this guy said. I've always preferred it, it seems like it has more depth of feeling in it.

Exactly. It just takes on new meaning when cash sings it.

I remember hearing this song when I was a teenager and it was so meaningful to me. I could never figure out what it was called because I heard it on the radio. Then Cash covered it a few years later and everyone was all on his nuts about it. I like Cash, but it's still just a cover. I prefer the original.

No wai guise. The original is clearly superior to old man Cash's version.

I would say Cash brought heavy emotion to it for me personally.
