With this much contention over identification it's way more logical to simply throw the specimens out. I would never eat something that 10 people told me was inactive and 3 people told me was.
I would want 100% of all the trusted posters on this board to agree.

I also might point out dubwobble is using a lot of sarcasm in his posts and probably doesn't actually think everyone hates him.

Most importantly, "being positive about a find" is what gets people killed.
Dont eat it.

And that's definitely not blueing at the base, I see what dub is talking about. It's a bunch of white shit at the stem being cast in the shadow of the dirt clustered around it, giving it a dark white hue.

If there was blueing it'd be consistent, more or less, up the stem, which has obviously been palpated to no avail.

= you.

At least I am inquisitive and positive about peoples finds.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you really think I actually said I hate you.  Reread my post, slowly this time.  I did not say I hate you.

Yes, I get what you meant now man.

I don't mean to be combative sounding, sorry if I took what you said wrong and sorry if I offended anyone.

All I meant to say is that it looks like a Psilocybe to me, and to take a spore pint to make sure it is or isn't something.

Anyways, there are PSILOCYBE mushrooms that come up in cow dung in our area, and throughout the northern west coast.

It is called Psilocybe fimetaria.

Not really, I haven't seen one and others don't find them either.

Note the lack of veil remnants on the stems in the upper picture. They are clearly present in the dried out cubensis in the lower picture.
