outdoor cultivation

I am on vacation in the southern us. At a place I can come back to at any time. So I thought about starting a few little guys to grow outside. My problem is. Every outdoor tek I've read on here. Says to start it with colonized grain. But. I'm not going to b here long enough to do that. So my question is. Can I make a spot of poo or other sub and just put in some spores and let it do its thing, and have a wonderful suprise. Waiting for me on my return. Lol

You can surely try however it is best to have a colonized spawn before letting nature take its course. How are you gonna do this? make a pile of poo and inject it with spore? My best bet is you wait till you have time and grow growem with TLC...

My idea waz to soak some grain and maybe some straw. And make layers of those and poo. And put enough water to keep moist and some spores in each layer.

I wish I would have the time to do some grains to use. But I'm leaving in about a week. So that's not even an option at this point. Lol

I'm sorry to bump this back to the top. But I really need some help on this as soon as possible. So I can have the time to have the spores shipped here b4 I fly home.

Issue with this is if grain not sterilized will contam because of the endospores in the grain. The straw would also need to be pasteurized, and straw contams quick also if not colonized quickly by your mycelium.

negative, outdoors you dont have to worry about it..I throw out straw on my outdoor patch where I dump all spent/contaminated jars, monotub's, and left over substrates...when it doesn't rain much i'll water twice a week, and get fruits all thru out the season..

Didn't know that about the straw and out-door grows. Still tho using uncolonized grain and spores in layers don't seem like it would work to well.

What if I just put some spores in poo out there? Sorry if I sound dumb. Lol I'm very good with indoor. But never tried it outside. And like I said. Unfortunately don't have time to col some grain.
