Salvia laughing

I've only tried salvia maybe 20 times, I recently have tried it twice (both today, once this afternoon and once just 20 min ago) but all the other times were a couple years ago.
I've noticed that it does make you laugh, like people say. But when I laugh on it, it usually accompanies some knowledge or realization. I don't just laugh for no reason. Do you people laugh for no reason on it?
The trip I had this afternoon I laughed because after taking the hit (10x), holding it in, closing my eyes, and then laying down, I noticed that the way I was laying was not comfortable for a part of my back, so I adjusted myself a little bit, and it was better, but then another part felt off, so I adjusted again, and then again until I was comfortable. I then laughed so hard, not just because of the funny salvia-effects, but also because of the realization that I tend towards non-action and put little effort into my actions. I realized how ridiculous it was that I am too timid and lazy to even get comfortable without applying too much effort. After this realization I blasted off into salvia space though, where conscious thinking didnt happen
I laughed very well again about 25 min ago in the shower (I took a smaller dose to ensure contact with reality while in the shower) when I realized how funny our bodies are, and also what we do. I was just thinking about life in general, and my parents, and everyone ive met, and how people have our customs, convictions, just ways of living without ever questioning or consciously thinking about the way life is (autopilot, zombies, not aware, etc) and it was just so funny. Like nobody seems to get the cosmic joke of existence but me (not true, just felt true) I then washed my armpits, and those were funny too. I thought about how funny people are, about our bodies, and all this made me laugh. It wasn't just the effects of salvia, unless you want to call the effect of salvia awareness, self-realization, or something like that, because things of that nature seemed to be the cause of the laughter. A quote "And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh. -Nietzsche" I feel that, haha.
Do you laugh for no reason on salvia? Or from a realization of some kind? Or do you not laugh?
I don't always laugh of course.

I laughed so hard the first time I tried salvia. The things that I was feeling and seeing were so ridiculous that I couldn't help but laugh.
Every salvia trip I've had since then has been devoid of laughter.

I know man when I laugh on it it's sooo hard. But honestly I think real laughter should be pretty hard, for at least longer than a haha/hehe. Short laughs seem egotistic (or is it egoistic?) They usually aren't actually joyful like laughter should be, either that or they are laughing with people, which isn't "true" laughter either to me. What you call "creepy" laughter I call geniune laughter. It's creepy because of the intensity and length, both are out of the norm, which is fakeness/ego laughter

I often laugh just because salvia is so incredibly funny and ridiculous in how it discloses its vision to you. With other psychedelics, there's a sense of elegance and mystery. Salvia, on the other hand, kind of slops the revelations like so much slop onto your mess hall tray. Allow me to explain the analogy with an example:
During one salvia trip I had, I could plainly see that the lawn in front of me was divided up into extraordinarily mundane ~1 meter size time blocks. Now, I have no idea what I mean by "time block" right now, but during my trip what these things were was self-evident to me. I started laughing because it was too easy to figure out. There WAS no figuring out. It was just "there." blahhhhhh. There was no teasing out of any hidden meaning or anything. It was just RIGHT THERE. It was silly how straightforward and mundane it was, despite its weirdness.
Imagine if, for example, everytime you took LSD the only thing you saw was a hillbilly scratching his butt. That's how many of my salvia trips are. They can be incredibly bizarre, but the trip is so...transparent and...just there...that it seems ridiculous.

I laugh for no reason. The first few times I smoked salvia I got nothing but laughter and a mild dissociated feeling, nothing hallucinogenic. I actually couldn't get over the laughter because it felt so fake and forced, there was nothing to laugh at. This was before I knew people laughed from it, so it wasn't placebo or anything. I've since then tripped on it but haven't laughed since those first few times.

the only time I laughed (I think) it was because I felt as though I was being sucked into the television and there wasn't anything I could do about it.
to me it felt like I was laughing as hard as I ever had in my life. Hysterical laughter and that's about all I remembered from the experience. It's entirely possible that I sat there silently and it was all in my head.

I know what you mean especially when you said the revelations slop onto your mess hall tray. Yeah it's just there and it is almost absurd in it's obviousness. I only laugh from this if I haven't broken through though. Maybe I laugh while im gone, but I wouldnt know it.
"i kinda think its disrespectful to the plant" Well salvia is a healing plant, and laughter is good medicine, so I don't think the plant cares that im getting joy from her effects..

Although I laugh when smoking salvia, it isn't for any particular reason. I actually hate salvia to be honest. iv only done it a few times, but it is always accompanied by a very uncomfortable body tension and often I get quite fearful. I know some people who enjoy salvia, but I feel like they are the minority

I always laugh, and always for no reason. No insight, except that laughter is therapeutic.

Yeah, it's not pleasurable or recreational. I like it because of it's power. It humbles me. Also after getting to level 4 or especially 5 and being there for what seems like eternity, it feels amazing to come back to normal. Makes me appreciate life.
The effects are just so interesting. The folding, layers, merging is so weird.

I think laughing is more likely to happen on lower strength salvia like 5x, 10x and 15x compared to the stronger ones, however with more experience you begin to learn to control it.
It seems that there's some sort of trigger that causes the laughter. On my first trip i used 10x, i was in my bedroom and i took 2 hits, i looked at my little brother's bed cover and it was the tweenies but they appeared to be dancing, in the background i was playing Bob Marley -jamming. It looked as if the tweenies were dancing and singing to the song, this seemed so funny and this triggered my uncontrollable laughter.

If you want to go traditional, the natives are HORRIFIED we dry salvia. They see the Goddess as loving water and some have said we aren't even contacting her, we must be getting something else.

I used to laugh every time when i would do salvia when i was younger with friends. I think the laughing is a reaction that happens when you have all your friends in the room looking at you with an astonished, confused, worried look on your face. They're smiling or laughing at you and you at the center of attention just react by laughing so as not to look overwhelmed. Then everyone starts doing and saying dumb shit to entertain eachother when they start to feel normal again. I never really enjoyed it that way... or got anything from the experiences at least.
Now that i am older and more experienced, i prefer to fly solo with salvia. I take the experience in very spiritually and seriously. I never laugh when i do it by myself, only when i have done it with other people. In fact i rarely even move until the trip is over. And me and salvia have always had a good relationship since i discovered how to use it properly.

I laugh very unnaturally, it feels like vomiting but with laughter. Usually I try to prevent it because it detracts from the trip... I'd prefer to be totally calm so I can fully experience the trip. Sometimes if I begin the trip eyes open, thus triggering the fragmented vision / flipbook trip, each time I move from one vision into it again, the laughter gets louder and louder until I am screaming in hysterics. I have had police approach me on the comedown (civilians probably notified the police, because trust me, it gets LOUUUUD) and I have to act sober even though my body is split into 10 pieces and there are blobs shooting through me and walls forming all around me. Luckily I'm a good actor.

I've never laughed on Salvia, nor have I ever felt anything positive or close to wanting to laugh on Salvia. I've also never been present when anyone else has laughed on Salvia. Frankly, I think the laughing thing is a myth. If you watch idiots on Youtube do Salvia, very, very few of them laugh. Virtually none except people who might not have actually done Salvia.

Not true, I laugh uncontrollably. Some of my friends don't, most do. Laughter appears to stop at high/breakthrough doses however.

I've seen many people laugh uncontrollably while on salvia. It doesn't have to be such a big intimidating thing. Salvia is fun and enjoyable if you have the right mindset.

I've laughed on salvia in ways that have nothing to do with humor...

@ nooneman, further proof the less people know the more certain they are that they know it. Lots of people laugh on salvia, like this thread shows, unless you think they are either the 'virtually none' or are liars. I've watched 3 people smoke it, and did it myself. 75% laughed.
@jacktorrance I never notice my own laughing on a breakthrough dose, but I have seen other people who got pretty seriously into salvia space laugh almost without being aware of it. I do laugh on the comedown sometimes even when it's a pretty strong experience. One more curiousity of salvia I guess.

This. On both accounts.
I had a similar trip where I smoked Salvia and all of a sudden all of the objects hanging on my wall and even the space between them all became... individual. I don't know how to explain it better than that. It wasn't just that thought that was funny, but also the realization that no matter how obvious this was to me, there was NO WAY I'd be able to explain it to my sober friends watching me trip on Salvia in the room.
That thought, more than anything, threw me into hysterical laughter.

I think you have it wrong my friend. Not trying to be mean or rude but Sally wants you to have fun and laugh as much as you want when you are on the trip.... If you take it too seriously then you are holding back from having the best possible trip because Sally wants you to. The plant definitely takes control and if you make it out to be anything but the most pleasant experience possible, it won't be. I have tried Salvia many times, laughed on it every time because it was such an enjoyable experience. Sally is no downer, she wants you to have a good time ! Just let your ego melt away and it will all be great.
