Hello! I have recently acquired a B Caapi cutting!

Can someone with more experience than I (anyone who has had one for more than 3 hours) offer any wisdom? Also, I am in a 5b-6b hardiness zone. Will my attemps at cultivating prove to be futile next winter?

Definitely not hardy to 5b-6b. I imagine the limit is 10 with some success in 9b for established plants. They like lots of root space an a trellis even though it usually doesn't seem like they need it at first.

I plan on keeping her in a pot and moving it inside for the winter. And I already have an old topiary ball for her. What is the coldest temperature B Caapis can handle?

They lose their leaves during prolonged periods below 40 F or so. They will come back in the spring even with a light frost if they are of sufficient diameter, but 33-36 F would probably be a "safe" minimum temperature for woody stems.

Thank you naum! How long will it take until she starts to climb?
